Picteus: open-source local app searches your AI image library by prompt, model, LoRA or seed
shivam_dewan · reddit · 2026-10-28
A developer released Picteus, a free open-source local desktop app that indexes your existing image-generation folders in place, solving the pain of digging through thousands of files to find an old generation.
- Search by prompt text, checkpoint, LoRA, seed and sampler
- Reads ComfyUI workflow metadata, so you can filter by which nodes a workflow used
- Plugin system for adding custom taggers or metadata readers
Still in beta: images without embedded metadata only get basic file info, and the author is specifically seeking speed feedback from users with 100k+ image libraries. Nothing is uploaded and no account is required.
