A monthly Patentable Discoveries agent that scans biotech research for IP
nlarusstone · x · 2026-10-28
The author shares an agent workflow from biotech: IP is the lifeblood of biotech, but most experimental data is never re-examined after the initial experiment, and many companies lack the patent attorneys or legal headcount to review ongoing research output.
The fix is a monthly "Patentable Discoveries Agent" that scans all completed research and surfaces up to 3 pieces of work that could be patented; if nothing rises to patentable level, it says so and suggests how existing work would need to be extended to become novel and patentable. A tweakable sample prompt is included.
