Xplore Releases RWE-Bench to Measure AI on Rocket, Engine and Chip Design
Jsevillamol · x · 2026-10-27
Epoch's Jsevillamol shared and endorsed Xplore's new Real World Engineering Bench (RWE-Bench), arguing that AI has transformed software engineering and may be about to do the same for physical-world engineering.
Xplore's quoted post says AI is not yet great at designing rockets, engines or chips, but better evals and RL environments will get it there: software was just the beginning, the physical world is next.
The author discloses he is a founding advisor, board member and equity holder at Xplore, and turned down a full-time offer there to stay at Epoch.
