One dev plus agents rebuilt 11 foundational libraries, 1.14M lines of C#, in days

Recursive AI's "Alera library factory" — one human plus a team of agents — rebuilt 11 foundational libraries from scratch in C(about 1.14M lines) in days; 7 are already on NuGet, all clean-room and depending only on .NET.
Highlights:
- JavaScript interpreter passing 99.55% of the official test262 conformance suite
- HTML/CSS engine rendering a 10,000-row table to PDF in 1.8s / 305MB vs headless Chrome's 6.5s / 2.1GB — from empty repo in under a day
- HLSL shader compiler matching Microsoft's output on 330/330 GPU tests
- Plus PDF, image codecs, font shaping, audio, compression, OCR, and a game engine
The real question isn't "can AI code" but what happens when the software stack's bottom layer stops being scarce: every language gets best-in-class foundations; abandoned single-maintainer libraries become replaceable; "too big to rewrite" stops being a constraint.
