GPT-6.1 Terra and Sol leapfrog predecessors but still trail Astra at 3D spatial reasoning
patience_cave · x · 2026-10-27
patiencecave reports that GPT-6.1 Terra and Sol made enormous progress over their predecessors — the previous Terra only matched today's Luna — with Terra now beginning to compete with Astra on MazeBench. But GPT-6 Astra remains state of the art at spatial reasoning: the 6.1 models 'have mastered the tutorial but struggle to make meaningful progress afterwards' once 3D exploration begins.
