Walden Robotics explains call-for-help: Jidoka-inspired remote assistance for robot fleets
CyberRobooo · x · 2026-10-27
Walden Robotics' blog post details how its LBMs learn to request remote assistance, inspired by Toyota's Jidoka, the AV industry, and Claude Code's Auto mode. Because autonomy is a ratio, robots must meet production-level reliability from day one while continuously learning: remote assistants virtually jump into robots to resolve ambiguity and uncaught edge cases, supported by infrastructure that schedules robot-assistant connections and fleet monitoring systems that provide sufficient context for fast resolution. Every intervention becomes a training example, with conservative thresholds relaxing over time.
