OpenAI, Google, Anthropic Reportedly Building FINRA-Style AI Self-Regulator by 2027
emmanuelvivier · x · 2026-10-27
OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic are reportedly preparing a FINRA-style self-regulatory body for AI, targeted for late 2026 or early 2027. Separately, IBM announced agent identity and governance capabilities: HashiCorp Vault Agent Identity issues governed identities with least-privilege access and real-time revocation, while watsonx Orchestrate unifies agent discovery and evaluation across Amazon Bedrock, Microsoft Foundry, and Google Gemini. Gartner projects the average Fortune 500 will run 150,000+ AI agents by 2028, yet only 13% of organizations believe their governance is adequate.
