Databricks tops $7B run rate growing 80% as agent queries surpass human ones

a16z publishes Ben Horowitz's profile of Databricks CEO Ali Ghodsi. The company has passed a $7B run rate growing 80% YoY, yet remains Silicon Valley's most under-the-radar story. Three years ago every interaction involved a human; today agent queries outnumber people. Ghodsi argues AGI is already here, but inside most companies AI still isn't trusted to update a Salesforce record: "AI does not have an intelligence problem, it has a context problem." His answer is a "system of record for agents" — giving agents data access, permission, feedback, and institutional knowledge. Horowitz frames it as one of the top five questions reshaping work over the next twenty years.
