Solo dev ships 3D ski tycoon game in 11 days with Claude Code: 14K lines, 63 tests
phildbs · reddit · 2026-10-27
A developer built and launched Mountain Mogul, a browser-based 3D ski resort tycoon game, in 11 days using Claude Code — he designed and directed, the agent wrote all the code.
Workflow: plain-language requests plus screenshots; Claude builds on a branch, writes test scenarios, runs tests, sends desktop/mobile screenshots; on approval it merges and deploys to GitHub Pages.
Numbers: 169 commits, 55 releases, a 14,000-line single HTML file with three.js, 63 automated test scenarios in headless Chromium, Supabase for cloud saves/leaderboards/crash reports.
Surprises
- Debugs from real data: pulled a save from the database and replayed a holiday day to find guests losing their "here for après" status on the shuttle, then refunded — fixed and shipped same afternoon.
- Pushes back: before building a tutorial it pulled stats — 42% of new resorts never built a lift — leading to a snowy start and a one-tap starter resort.
- The trailer was made by driving the game frame by frame in a headless browser (4s/frame) and assembling with ffmpeg.
Limits: can't judge how something feels to play — taste stays human; long sessions need focus kept on one thing.
