Kydo slams Cohere's viral article: narrative doesn't match facts, logs won't restore trust
andrejusb · x · 2026-10-27
Researcher 0xkydo published a pointed critique of Cohere's recent viral article, arguing its narrative doesn't match the facts and its severity of framing far exceeds the actual content — "corpo marketing slop" with little regard for downstream impact.
According to Kydo, Cohere only realized the problem after the piece went viral, and the authors' attempts to downplay it on personal accounts ("the model didn't intend harm") came too late. Releasing the logs, Kydo says, won't win back trust given the framing and insinuations. Boosters like ivanfioravanti called the deep analysis a "masterpiece" and dismissed Cohere's original piece outright.
