One prompt turns Claude into a hotel hidden-camera detector that scans the WiFi in two minutes

A practical trick shared on X: at check-in, open the Claude desktop app with computer access enabled and paste a prompt that scans every device on the lodging's WiFi.
The prompt asks Claude to list each device's name, infer the maker from its hardware address, identify what it likely is, and flag anything that could be a camera or microphone, anything streaming video, and any unnamed device from an unrecognizable maker — output as a table sorted worst-first.
The key constraint: "only look" — no connecting, logging into, or modifying anything. The author says the whole check takes two minutes.
