UReason (EMNLP Oral): Multimodal Models Reason Fine but Images Don't Follow
niloofar_mire · x · 2026-10-27
UReason, an EMNLP 2026 Oral paper, benchmarks reasoning-to-generation alignment in unified multimodal models (UMMs). Key finding: UMMs usually get the reasoning right, but generated images often don't follow it — and dropping the reasoning and re-prompting with only the model's own final prompt makes every tested model do significantly better. Oral Session 2, Oct 25, Budapest.
