Gmail to drop third-party "Send as" email support starting January 2027

Google support documentation confirms that starting January 2027, Gmail will end the "Send mail as" feature for third-party email addresses: users will no longer be able to send mail from owned non-Gmail addresses (e.g., work aliases) in Gmail on web or mobile. Gmail-to-Gmail aliases and Google Workspace "Send as" are unaffected. Developers note this breaks a popular workflow pairing custom domains with Resend and managing everything inside Gmail's UI.
