rumi: a shared-doc workspace for orchestrating multiple coding agents at once
MuzafferMahi · reddit · 2026-10-27
A Reddit developer open-sourced rumi, addressing "agent paralysis": either waiting on one agent while scrolling Instagram, or spinning up multiple sessions that wreck attention and project control.
Core interaction: instead of one session + prompt box, you start from a Google Docs-style blank page — write your thoughts, select snippets, and dispatch them as tasks to different agents. Sessions live in a sidebar, controllable without hijacking the main workspace or switching context.
- Built on top of pi with a few extensions; runs entirely local in the browser
- Also usable beyond coding: suggestions, thinking companionship, research
- Author admits it's underbaked and welcomes PRs/stars
