Lanyon showcased a simulation of an electromagnetic wavepacket diffracting over a metal cylinder inside a metal waveguide. The high-order (p=2) discontinuous Galerkin scheme for the perfectly hyperbolic Maxwell equations was autonomously discovered, verified, and implemented by the AI system itself.
