Flux3 style transfer lab: XY grids show composition/style timing sweet spots
Winter_unmuted · reddit · 2026-10-27
Building on a previous Flux3 img2img style-transfer workflow, the author uses the Latent+ node to treat composition and style as adjustable sliders controlling latent strength and injection timing, with XY grids comparing comp end (0–1.0) vs style start (0–1.0).
Key findings:
- With a 16-step transfer, tapering composition around 0.5 gives the best balance of creativity and subject fidelity; for strong likeness, keep composition until 80% or even 100% of steps.
- Style injection is forgiving across 0–100%: higher strength copies more style elements directly; for generic styles the style-expander prompt alone suffices.
- Strength tuning matters more for turbo models with 4 steps.
