Baseten ships BDN Sealed Volumes: immutable model data mounted by digest across deployments
baseten · x · 2026-10-27
Inference platform Baseten introduced BDN Sealed Volumes: publish model data once, then mount it by digest in any deployment. Weights, LoRA adapters, prebuilt engines, embedding indexes, and tokenizers are sealed as immutable versions — every replica serves identical bytes and updates upload only changed chunks. An accompanying article by Stephen Day et al. describes BDN as a system for distributing any content (weights, container images, training checkpoints) across model-serving infrastructure.
