Nitro Modules v1 gets Node.js support: one native module codebase for iOS and macOS
Birchlabs · x · 2026-10-27
Developer birchjs got Nitro Modules v1 running on Node.js, enabling rapid development of React Native native modules for both mobile and desktop from a single Node.js project. A screenshot shows the same code outputting JSI/Nitro call results on both a macOS window and an iPhone 17 Pro simulator (React Native 0.83 + Expo SDK 55 + Hermes). A pure cross-platform engineering milestone rather than an AI story, but technically notable.
