Video AI spat: Sume Remix claims to clone Higgsfield Genjutsu workflow at 2.6x cheaper, gets torched

yoobinray · x · 2026-10-27

A public feud broke out between generative video startups. Developer davidim launched Sume Remix, claiming it replicates the Higgsfield Genjutsu video-remix workflow at 2.6x lower cost with no subscriptions and a $5 entry price, declaring "We just killed Higgsfield Genjutsu."

The Melius team (behind a competing product called Ditto, currently in waitlist) fired back, accusing the Sume developer of farming discourse and larping about generative media APIs for virality: "You talk about commoditization of APIs, but maybe you should worry about getting anything to work first." They posted internal benchmark videos used to validate that Ditto outperforms competing tools, including Genjutsu.

A classic AI-startup dustup: one side plays the wrapper-plus-undercutting card, the other plays the you-don't-know-the-tech card.
