IDA 9.5 ships Qualcomm Hexagon decompiler plus IDA MCP for AI-driven reverse engineering
OwariDa · x · 2026-10-27
Hex-Rays released IDA 9.5, one of its biggest updates, headlined by three agentic-AI capabilities: IDA MCP (an official MCP server connecting IDA to frontier LLMs with 20% token savings vs conventional function-calling implementations), Assist (an AI harness purpose-built for reverse engineering with specialized contexts, memories and tools), and IDA Pro Headless (optimized for fleets of AI agents with a license server for pipelines/VMs/sandboxes).
Classic-side highlights: new decompilers for Android Dalvik, Infineon TriCore and Qualcomm Hexagon; recursive decompilation across call graphs; better Rust/Swift/Go/modern C++ output with verbatim name preservation and bitfield recovery; stronger AVX/SSE, Armv9, MIPS R6, WebAssembly 3.0 support; UEFI loader, Pathfinder widget, FLIRT 2.0 signatures; optional Malware Analysis add-on. IDA Home now includes 11 cloud decompilers instead of 2 at the same price.
