How to ace the "send us something cool" AI interview: research interviewers with agents, then focus
brandon_galang · x · 2026-10-27
For applied AI interview loops that ask candidates to "send us something cool you've made," the author proposes a concrete workflow: answer "impressive to who?" before building anything.
- Research the company and especially the interviewers in your loop; use agents (e.g. a Grok Bot) to find their socials and see what they care about.
- Work backwards from that research to define the 1-2 takeaways you want them to remember from your build.
- Ruthlessly simplify: it's easy to ship slop or overwhelm them with everything you can do. Focus until those 1-2 things land — that's what "impressive" means to them.
