Anthropic's S-1 reveals it's on the hook for billions in compute while customers can walk away anytime

Fortune reports that Anthropic's IPO prospectus (S-1) shows the company sells AI services on a usage-based model and customers are using a lot right now. The catch: it depends heavily on outside partners for compute and has taken on billions of dollars in compute obligations, while its customers have no lock-in and can leave at any time — a structural mismatch between rigid costs and volatile usage-based revenue.
