Intel to acquire Classiq to build full-stack quantum computing platform
BenBajarin · x · 2026-10-27
Intel has signed a definitive agreement to acquire quantum computing software provider Classiq (Tel Aviv), combining Classiq's synthesis platform with Intel's silicon spin-qubit manufacturing and software into a user-friendly full-stack quantum platform.
Intel frames Classiq as playing a role analogous to EDA/CAD in classical chip design: a hardware-agnostic software abstraction layer that lets quantum computing scale beyond hand-crafted circuits. Intel has invested in quantum since 2015 and claims to be the only company able to mass-produce qubit chips and cryogenic control electronics using conventional semiconductor processes.
