After 20 Years of Launches, HN Shah Publishes His Early Access Playbook

Serial entrepreneur HN Shah (20+ years of product launches) published his full Early Access Playbook v1.0 (Google Doc), distilling a methodology for early-access launches:
- Core mechanism: when an observation triggers a consequential product decision, bring the job, exact observation, version and candidate explanations—leave with a Decision Receipt and a retest plan
- Decision hygiene: record what happened, at least two possible explanations, the do-nothing option, and why you chose one
- Pre-register expectations: before shipping, write what you expect to improve and what would prove your explanation wrong; retest the same job afterward
- Feature rollouts: use feature flags or small releases; run randomized comparisons when samples allow
- Anti-self-deception: extra onboarding or founder hand-holding can make cohorts look better than the product really is; keep the old workflow available while learning
A directly reusable process template for indie builders doing early access and cold-start acquisition.
