CapCut announces ChatGPT plugin: draft videos in chat, refine in the timeline editor
lmoroney · x · 2026-10-26
At CapCut World LA, CapCut announced a ChatGPT plugin: start with an idea in ChatGPT, use CapCut's editing and generation tools to get a draft video right in the chat, then move it into CapCut's web editor for refinement and publishing.
The handoff to a real timeline editor is built into the design — prompts get you a rough cut fast, pacing still needs a timeline. Tip: write prompts like a shot list (what each beat shows, how long it holds, where the music lands).
