$13 Bluetooth speaker becomes a sarcastic AI rock via Codex and GPT Live

OpenAI's dev account showcases Kinform, an Android prototype built with Codex that turns everyday objects into persistent AI characters with their own personality, voice, and separate memories. The mascot "Greg," a sarcastic-affectionate rock, runs on a $13 Bluetooth speaker wired into GPT Live for two-way audio — after the dev discovered the speaker just needed to be flipped face-up. Also linked: an open-source MCP relay that lets a desk display receive READY/BUSY/ALERT pings from a ChatGPT Dot.
