Automattic is hosting a dev/ai/nyc event in New York featuring a fireside chat between Dennis Crowley (co-founder of Dodgeball and Foursquare, now CEO of Hopscotch Labs) and Jeff Smith, Head of Product AI at Automattic.
Crowley is building BeeBot, an app that uses AI to tell you about your surroundings as you walk through a city. The discussion covers BeeBot's product and technical decisions, where AI works in physical spaces and where it falls short, and what has changed since the Foursquare era.
The evening includes networking for technologists, builders and creators.
