Google community talks don't need all-Google stacks: Next.js on Firebase counts
weskambale · x · 2026-10-26
Responding to the perception that Google Developer Community conference talks must be about Google tech, the author lays out practical hybrids: build web apps with Next.js or React and deploy on Firebase (Google claims the win), use React Native inside Android Studio with Firebase auth or Google Maps, build models with Keras/JAX served via FastAPI, or train PyTorch on TPUs — Google still counts the TPU. The requirement is about the community's name and sponsorship, not a mandate for an all-Google stack: a PyCon sponsored by PSF discussing Rust would be equally odd.
