X algorithm change: new posts no longer cut first, low-quality posts get warning labels
ThePeterMick · x · 2026-10-26
X-algorithm tracker ThePeterMick quotes adamboxer1's advice (reply and quote-tweet posts you like instead of just liking) and summarizes this week's update to the For You feed:
- X can only process 2,800 posts each time you open the feed; new posts used to be last in line and cut first, but now cuts are spread evenly, giving new posts a fair shot
- Posts labeled low quality or misinformation now show a warning, and others can't like, reply, or share them
- No scoring changes this time
Takeaway: your first 2 hours still matter most, but new posts no longer get systematically disadvantaged.
