Humanoid robots' DRAM demand may 20x, but it's still just 0.04% of 2026 supply

Counterpoint Research forecasts humanoid robots' DRAM demand to surge 20x by 2030 (from 8,300 Tb in 2026 to 172,000 Tb), with memory per robot doubling from 19GB to 39GB.
But @zephyrz9 runs the math back: that implies 550k humanoids produced annually and 21.5 PB of DRAM demand in 2026. Even at 20x production (11M units), demand is only 430 PB (0.43 EB) — versus 48 EB of DRAM production in 2026, i.e. roughly 0.04% of supply, suggesting the headline surge may be overstated in absolute terms.
