Pointer: open-source MCP server lets AI agents drive your real Chrome tabs
FinancialManager7861 · reddit · 2026-10-26
A developer released Pointer, an open-source (MIT) MCP server that lets AI agents control your actual Chrome tabs instead of a separate headless browser.
- Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and OpenCode
- Reuses your existing Chrome sessions and logged-in accounts
- Visual cursor shows what the agent is doing; stop anytime with Esc or a click
- Runs locally with no telemetry; token-efficient browser snapshots
Repo: github.com/longvo2k/pointer — handy for having coding agents perform real web tasks like signup-flow testing.
