Postiz-cheap: a free open-source alternative to the $99/mo social scheduler
matchaman11 · x · 2026-10-26
Developer Anil Matcha launched Postiz-cheap, a free open-source alternative to Postiz. His pitch: many pay $99/month ($1,188/year) just to schedule content, so he built a self-hosted option with no subscriptions, lock-in, or limits.
The repo has 1.2k stars, MIT-licensed, built on Next.js + Prisma: it bundles an AI post writer, content calendar, and publishing across 8 platforms (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, TikTok, YouTube), and ships AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md for agent-assisted development. The quoted tweet encourages more people to clone the repo and launch similar alternatives.
Caveat: Postiz itself is already open source, so this reads partly as marketing a fork — external provider charges may still apply.
