A single successful run is a weak release signal for variable agents

If identical inputs sometimes produce different outcomes, reporting only the best run hides the problem, the author argues. Instead, repeat the same cases under recorded settings and inspect the distribution of verdicts, especially for consequential cases. Keep the number of attempts visible, including failures and timeouts — a case passing four times and failing once shouldn't be described as simply "passing." Repeated evaluation still doesn't prove future production inputs will behave the same way. The post accompanies skillEd, which supports repeated evaluation runs, and asks how to distinguish flaky cases from genuine improvements.
