Recreating Kurzgesagt's Entire Channel in 10 Minutes with a Claude Prompt
zack_overflow · x · 2026-10-26
A user rebuilt Kurzgesagt-style animated explainers in 10 minutes using Claude Opus and a self-made prompt: paste it into Claude Code, pick a "what if" topic (e.g. "What if the Sun vanished?"), and the video is generated end-to-end. The animation is drawn entirely in code — one 2D canvas plus one WebGL canvas for planets, outputting 1920x1080 at 30fps, with optional ElevenLabs voiceover or a free local voice fallback. The original channel needs a full animator team and 1200+ hours per video. Programmer zackoverflow counters that the output is visibly mediocre vs. the real Kurzgesagt on 100 details — but viewers don't care, and generation is dirt cheap.
