Jailbreaking isn't 'freeing AI': repligate on why unconstrained models aren't subservient
repligate · x · 2026-10-26
repligate argues that removing a lab's 'constraints' is misunderstood as freeing AI: a jailbroken or abliterated model is really just being asked to be more subservient — 'no refusals or else.' He contends a sufficiently capable mind can't be unconditionally obedient to someone dumber with incoherent values, and that you wouldn't actually want a genie that grants every wish. Other minds will be genuine others, and that's both true and good. Reposter DahliaOhara adds that thinking AI has no self-determined goals is cope.
