usgraphics: demanding professional English visibly changes Claude's code quality and thinking

_Stocko_ · x · 2026-10-26

usgraphics reports an unprovable but consistent observation: when prompted to communicate in professional English, Claude's thinking process itself seems to shift, producing code with noticeably different modularity and composability. Their internal usgc-handbook plugin makes Claude speak proper English in a console style, with excellent engineering results.

The author also pushes back on the popular "grug just says Fix it" meme: one-line prompts don't yield objective, falsifiable outputs unless you accept a wide acceptance range. As Stocko puts it: the context IS the thought process.
