Researcher clarifies Pangram: self-drafted essays rarely flagged 100% AI
paulnovosad · x · 2026-10-26
Amid debate over the Pangram AI-writing detector, researcher paulnovosad clears up a common confusion: 'did Pangram pick up any AI use' is not the same as 'does Pangram say this is 100% AI-generated.' Students who start from their own drafts are extremely unlikely to be flagged as fully AI-written, even with Grammarly-style polish. He adds that composition classes should strongly discourage blindly asking AI to improve essays or accepting all Grammarly suggestions.
