Robots that read anticipatory brain signals for collaborative task planning — paper pick of the week
tomssilver · x · 2026-10-26
Tom Silver's weekly paper pick: "Human-robot collaborative task planning using anticipatory brain responses" (Ehrlich et al., PLOS One 2023). The premise: talking is too much effort — instead of verbally specifying intent, robots infer the human's next move from anticipatory brain responses. The paper offers both a BCI interaction paradigm that replaces verbal commands and useful insights on HRI and collaborative planning.
