Open-source Mac agent hides the terminal: voice-driven, file-based memory, safety rules in code
New_Mess_7522 · reddit · 2026-10-26
A developer released a free, open-source Mac app for people who'll never open a terminal. It auto-installs a Hermes Agent engine in 80 seconds, walks users through setup by voice, and reuses their already-signed-in browser, email and calendar. Safety rules live in code, not prompts: drafts only (no direct email sends), human confirmation for purchases/deletions, folder-level permissions, and plain-file memory split into 'rooms' so switching LLMs loses nothing.
