StackChan desk robot now runs hermes-agent locally with snappy Gradium voice, fully functional
alexcovo_eth · x · 2026-10-25
A developer shows off their upgraded M5Stack StackChan desk robot — no longer just a chatbot in a browser tab but a real desk companion that talks back fast.
Stack: Nous Research's hermes-agent as the brain (model-agnostic, so you can pick any model), Gradium's Phonon handling voice, Parakeet for TTS. It can run fully local for free, or use subscription-based models. Compared to last year's limited version, the author calls it a fully functioning, thinking robot anyone can own. Built with Grok bot and hermes-agent.
