Ethan Mollick: AI 'dashboards' undersell it — models now research, prioritize and act
emollick · x · 2026-10-25
Wharton scholar Ethan Mollick argues that thinking in terms of dashboards is too limiting for enterprise AI: frontier models don't just passively gather KPIs — they can actively do research, identify loose ends, tell you what matters, and increasingly take action.
The appeal, he says, is that current frontier models handle this kind of work out of the box when connected to a company's data, without much specialized setup.
