Rooted 2025 Samsung TV exposes always-on mic, ACR and telemetry to 400 partners

A viral security case: after suspiciously targeted ads, someone used zero-days to root a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV (firmware was locked down) and found an always-on voice service, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, a full telemetry pipeline shipping data to Samsung plus 400 partners, and four separate DRM systems. "This isn't a bug, it's the product." The quoted take: if vendors hide spyware in everyday devices, users should be allowed to use AI tools to jailbreak and remove it — anything less violates civil liberties.
