Off Policy turns 34 hours of ATP tennis footage into a Claude-powered AI coach

Off Policy built a pipeline that converts any tennis video into precise measurements of serves, forehands, and backhands.
They ran it on 34 hours of footage from 11 ATP pros (including Djokovic vs Shelton, US Open 2023), plus phone recordings of team members and Richard Pham, then asked Claude for coaching advice.
The motivation: sports analytics hasn't been revolutionized by AI despite models being superhuman at mining complex datasets for over a year. Claude's personalized advice impressed the author—"coaching I wish I had received a long time ago"—at a fraction of the Bay Area's $150/hour private lesson rate.
