Professor's year-long, 500-page quantum gravity derivation reproduced by Claude in 10 hours

Emre Onur Kahya, physics professor at Istanbul Technical University, fed his PhD-era 500-page handwritten quantum-gravity-in-curved-spacetime derivation to Claude Opus 5.5. The model reproduced everything in 10 hours (876x speedup), delivering 183 pages of notes, LaTeX source, and verification scripts.
Crucially, Opus 5.5 also ran 38 reproducible numerical checks via SymPy/mpmath and produced an error list: sign errors, missing non-analytic terms, constant mistakes. After corrections, the core physics conclusion held — no significant one-loop correction to late-time scalar mode functions.
Kahya called it an "existential crisis" moment, stressing this is high-intuition QFT in curved spacetime, not homework. He open-sourced everything as the claude-audits-quantum-gravity GitHub repo and submitted an arXiv paper on AI-auditing his own calculation.
