An NEJM case report describes a 53-year-old man (an Ernst & Young exec) evaluated twice for chest pain by a physician assistant seeing 20+ patients a day; both times acute coronary syndrome was missed as benign. MIT's Zico Kolter cites it to ask "Compared with what?" — AI errors should be judged against human baselines — and suggests at least an AI instant second opinion for every visit.
