30-Day Claude Usage Telemetry: Fable 5.1 Burns 5x Opus's Quota
ImNezz · reddit · 2026-10-25
A Reddit user with 10 Claude Code accounts measured usage consumption hourly for 30 days and found:
- Fable 5.1 eats quota at 500% of Opus's rate (5-hour and weekly limits) despite API pricing at only 205% of Opus—the worst subscription value
- Opus 5.5 is the best bang for the buck: 100% price, 100% quota baseline
- Sonnet 5.5 is slightly overpriced: API price is 50% but quota consumption runs 70% (5-hour) / 75% (weekly), roughly 50% above what API prices suggest. Even after Anthropic halved cache-hit API pricing two weeks ago, subscription consumption didn't drop
Time-of-day analysis showed subtler effects: Anthropic appears to adjust limits dynamically with demand—US peak hours consume 10% more, weekend off-peak 10% less.
