DeepSeek has open-sourced the inference engine it actually uses in production to serve V4.1 Flash, under the Apache 2.0 license, with support for both NVIDIA Blackwell and Huawei Ascend hardware.
On the ThursdAI show, Yam Peleg called it a "broke the internet" move: serving more users on the same hardware keeps margins intact. The episode discusses DeepInfer's design and what's still missing in the inference serving stack.
