Cloudflare's dev account reshares engineer dillonmulroy's engineering breakdown: a customer needed 1,000 Git repos created per second with a three-week deadline. Instead of bolting together existing hosting, a three-person team built their own Git server on Durable Objects and shipped Cloudflare Artifacts as a closed beta on time. The linked post explains why standard Git hosting couldn't handle that write volume and how Durable Objects' consistency model enabled the high-frequency repo creation.
