The 29th International Obfuscated C Code Contest returned after a hiatus since 2020 with record participation, selecting 23 winning programs and crowning its first-ever winner from Taiwan.
Rules cap source at 4,993 bytes under C11 with a GNU Makefile. Yusuke Endoh, Don Yang, and Nick Craig-Wood (author of rclone) each scored a hat-trick. Craig-Wood won best real-world emulator for a bare-bones Game Boy emulator that fits in under 5KB of deliberately incomprehensible C yet runs actual cartridge files, Tetris included.
