Pennsylvania signs law requiring labels on AI-generated ads
The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-25
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act, requiring any ad—still image, video, audio, or text—that has been significantly modified or generated by AI to carry a disclosure label in the same format as the ad itself. It applies to everything from billion-dollar TV commercials to restaurant flyers, regardless of where the ad runs, making Pennsylvania one of the first US states to mandate AI content disclosures.
